This week: vision board + open air
Okay, today I want to write about two things that have been on my mind: making vision boards and ‘open air’.
I’ve officially started my summer break (yayyy!), and with that came a burst of inspiration and motivation. One of the first things I felt like doing? Changing my laptop backgrounds. I know, they’ll only be there temporarily because I’m getting a new laptop soon, but honestly? I loved how they turned out so much that I’m 100% going to reuse them on my new device.
These are actually the third and fourth vision boards I’ve ever made. So no, I’m not a total pro (yet!), but I do think these ones turned out really well. That’s why I wanted to share my process with you, my little secrets to creating a beautiful, aesthetic, and intentional vision board.
First things first: Ask yourself, “What is this vision board for?”
That’s the core question.
My current board lives on my laptop, which I mostly use for school. So, originally, I wanted it to be study-focused. But when I started gathering images and ideas, I realized I was being pulled toward a broader perspective, my whole life, not just school. School is just one piece of a much bigger puzzle.
So, before you start crafting your own, ask yourself:
Is this board for a specific area of your life (like school, work, or health)?
Or is it for your overall goals, mindset, or personal growth during a certain season?
Choose Your Format: Digital or Physical?
There are two main ways to make a vision board: digital (for screens) or physical (something you can hold or hang up). Decide which one works best for you, then gather your materials.
Physical Vision Board
You’ll need:
A piece of cardboard or a corkboard
Old magazines or printouts
Scissors & glue
Markers, washi tape, stickers, etc.
Digital Vision Board
Some tools I love:
Canva (super easy and free!)
Pinterest (for collecting inspiration)
Google Images or Tumblr
You can also design it in Keynote, PowerPoint, or any collage app
The Real Work: Finding Your Visuals
Now comes the most magical part, finding images that match your intentions.
Look for visuals that:
Reflect your goals and dreams
Spark good feelings and motivation
Symbolize what you want to attract or manifest
Don't just think in terms of “stuff” (like a car or a house), think about how you want to feel. Peaceful? Energized? Confident? Free?
You can also add:
Quotes or affirmations
Words that inspire you
Colors that calm or excite you
Time to Create
Start arranging your visuals in a way that feels good. Let it flow naturally, you can group things by theme (career, health, love, etc.) or just follow your instinct.
When it’s done, place it somewhere visible:
Phone or laptop background
Bedroom wall or closet door
Your journal or planner
The point is to see it often, daily if possible. Let it remind you of your intentions and keep you aligned with what matters most.
Alright, now let’s move on to Open Air.
So... what even is Open Air?
Basically, it’s a browser, just like Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. But the twist? It’s all about aesthetics. ✨
I actually discovered it through an influencer who was sponsored by them (gotta love those random finds), and honestly? I’m obsessed. The design is minimal, super calming, and just really pretty to look at. It instantly makes browsing the internet feel more intentional and inspiring.
You kind of have to see it for yourself to get the vibe. Trust me, it’s one of those things you’ll either get right away or not at all. But if you're into visuals, good vibes, and a soft digital space, it’s definitely worth a try. <33
Go take a look. Who knows, you might fall in love with your new favorite browser. 🌿🖥️
